In their Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome products, they use the Secure Browsing API (application programming interface) from the Google Code Laboratory (better known as the Google Safe Browsing API). The principle of operation of this product is to check every visit to the URL for the presence of suspicious pages in the list hosted on Google servers. The database is constantly updated through programmatic analysis of websites and visitor complaints.

The Google Code Lab provides a secure browsing API for programmers. But developing software for interacting with it is still quite a difficult task for small projects, because it is necessary to accept significant flows of information, build your own database, host it on your own servers, keep the local database up to date, update it every half hour, etc. Through these difficulties, Google Safe Browsing API is not yet available. It has gained popularity and is almost not used in web projects. The owners of the latter, in turn, receive significant losses when their users' software, damaged by viruses, begins to send links to download the implementation of themselves to others without their knowledge and spreads the virus to an even larger audience.

For small web resources, it is proposed to develop a simplified interface for working with the Safe Browsing API without loss of basic functionality, but minimizing documentation should be studied by a developer who wants to use secure ones in their software products.

The advantage of using the developed product is the simplicity of implementing the program code, the absence of the need to have its own database, and the relatively small amount of traffic transmitted and received during link analysis.
